Chapters

Here it goes.  Our first attempt at this blog.  So if I ramble, I apologize.  This blog is meant to encourage women in all walks or seasons of life.  I'm reading Andy Stanley's "The Principle of the Path" and while reading was just struck by something he points out.  Mr. Stanley says that he prays a prayer from Proverbs 27:12  "Lord, help us to see trouble coming long before it gets here.  And give us wisdom to know what to do and the courage to do it."  I don't know about you, but I don't like praying for trouble or even wanting to know about trouble coming but the next part was an "oh yeah"  kind of moment.  Praying for wisdom when that trouble gets here.  Praying for the courage to handle the problem.  Instead of waiting for the trouble and being flustered and frustrated and surprised that trouble found you, pray that you can see it coming and be prepared when it comes.  Or at least prepared enough that it doesn't stop your world.  Just found that to be interesting and wanted to share that thought.  Trouble always comes, no matter where you are in life and I still don't think I like knowing when trouble is about to hit, but to pray for wisdom and courage puts God in there with us.  Now that I like - God being there with us from the beginning.  Kind of like being part of a planning party for trouble - "Ok, you're in charge of this...and if you could get this ready..."  Then we know we don't have to go through yucky stuff alone.
